QUESTION NO.1

QUESTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin

"To ask the Chief Executive to provide a report on the 1997 Section 183 Balgaddy land transfer to the Laurence O'Toole Trust detailing what parts of the original Section 183 conditions were not met and what contacts the Council has had recently with the Trust to resolve these outstanding matters?" 

REPLY:

By resolution of the elected members at a meeting of the Council on 9/6/97(minute ref C/235/1997 refers), it was agreed to dispose of two plots of land, comprising in total 1.45 acres or thereabouts at Foxdene Estate, Balgaddy, Clondalkin to St Laurene O'Toole Diocesan Trust. The disposal to take place on completion of registration of the Council's title in the PRA, the subject plots being part of  arrangements for finalisation between the Council and Dublin City in respect of the Scheme of Transfer of Lands. Nothwithstanding the absence of contact from legal representatives of the purchaser until March 2015, it was not possible for the Council to advance completion of the transfer due to the presentation of a number of complex queries on the folio and proper registration of the subject plots.  Arrangements are now in place to reactivate the disposal process with a view to completing the transfer at an early date as possible.
