QUESTION NO. 10
QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney
"To ask the Chief Executive what progress has been made in providing a bus service to elderly and other residents in the Dublin 12 area for health and other appointments, as previously supported at this Committee, and to make a statement on the matter?"
REPLY:
A commitment was given last year by the Council to provide financial assistance, as part of its Age Friendly commitments, towards the funding of a pilot bus service to bring older members of the community to and from outpatient appointments in Tallaght hospital. The service will be door to door and will initially be trialled with clients of Trustus, who have agreed to run the service. There have been several delays associated with the arrangements required to commence the service but Trustus have now confirmed that the service will commence in the very near future.
