QUESTION: Councillor S. Holland

"To ask the Chief Executive that the goalposts need to be realigned at Whitechurch pitches - please organise this and let me know when it will be done?"

REPLY:

The football pitch at Whitechurch has been examined and a number of maintenance tasks identified as necessary including repairs to goalmouth areas.  The request to realign the pitch requires closer examination to determine if it is feasible.  There is a need to realign the pitch in such a manner as to shift it away from the earthen embankment which is close to Whitechurch Park.  There is however limited space on the other side of the pitch next to Whitechurch Green, as the ground slopes away from the edge of the pitch as it is currently laid out down to the main road.   It will be necessary to set out the proposed new realigned location for the pitch on the ground to determine if there is adequate space for realignment, and this will be done in the coming weeks.
