LECP - consultation phase update
REPLY
Progress on developing the LECP is ongoing. Since last SPC meeting key milestones are:
- The vision and high level goals have been agreed for public consolation.
- The LECP advisory group has met and considered the appropriate means of public consultation.
- A briefing was held on the 20th of April last by the SPC and LCDC chairs for the elected members to share with them the emerging high level goals and vision for the LECP. An outline of the adoption process and timetable was given at this briefing.
- Public consultation on the vision and high level goals commenced on the 1st May and runs until the 5th June.
- Full information on the process is online on the Council’s website and submissions can be made online, by email or by post.

- Regional economic actors have been contacted through the regional assembly drawing their attention to the consultation process.
- Local economic actors have also been contacted to directly ascertain their views regarding future economic policy and actions.
- Consultation period ends 5th June.
Following the end of the consultation period the draft economic element of the LECP will be formulated for consideration by the SPC.
