QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the Chief Executive if he will provide a report from the Council's representative on the Tallaght, St Patricks Day Festival Committee and in noting the success of the Festival will he outline what assistance would now be available if plans were made to hold a Tallaght Parade on St Patricks Day 2016?"

REPLY:

The Council remains committed to supporting the holding of a St Patrick's Day Festival in Tallaght, whether it includes a parade or not. Certainly after a break of a number of years this years Festival was well attended and generally well received in the community.

While there have been no specific meetings of the Committee (understood to be due to illness) the Council will assist in whatever way it can to the holding of a Festival in 2016.
