QUESTION NO. 6

QUESTION: Councillor S. Holland

"To ask the Chief Executive to note that there have been a spate of burglaries recently at Grange Downs.  Access is being gained through a hole in the fence (see map):

https://www.google.ie/maps/place/Grange+Downs,+Dublin/@53.2877237,-6.2739405,118m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x48670bc3aab94ae5:0xc17e9ee906234d62?hl=en

Can the manager please advise on additional security measures, such as higher fences/ lighting/ camera?"

REPLY:

The boundary between Grange Downs and the park land to the east of the estate has been inspected recently and a number of locations in the boundary palisade fence have been identified as possibly large enough to allow access for an intruder from the park into private gardens.  The park land in question however is in the Dun Laoghaire / Rathdown administrative area and not that of South Dublin County Council, therefore this matter will now be brought to the attention of the Parks Dept of Dun Laoghaire / Rathdown County Council.
