QUESTION: Councillor M. Devine

"To ask the Chief Executive for an update of SDCC'S plans to purchase/rent units in the apartment development adjacent to Mc Gee park in Springfield."

REPLY:

An Approved Body, Oaklee Housing Trust, has entered into a formal legal contract with the developer of this site to acquire as fully completed a development of 45 residential apartments. On site works have commenced and the first block of 23 units is scheduled for handover in Q3 2015 with the remaing block of 22 units being completed by year end. 

Upon completion of acquisition of the development by the Approved Housing Body the 45 residential apartments will be made available for social use in respect of nominations from the Council housing list under a lease agreement between the Council and Oaklee Housing Trust for which funding from the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government is in place.
