COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF RATHFARNHAM/TEMPLEOGUE-TERENURE AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, April 14, 2015
QUESTION NO. 1
QUESTION: Councillor P. Foley
"To ask the Chief Executive to note that at February’s Area Committee meeting we were informed that path defects not included in the works programme but considered dangerous would be examined on an individual basis. Defects that were seen as trip hazards would be reviewed on a scale of 0 to 5 and dealt with accordingly. Since that meeting I have submitted several such trip hazards for review and was told that this rating system did not exist. Please update?"
REPLY:
The footpath rating is not yet in use. If a complaint is made about a footpath, firstly the footpath programme is checked to see if work is programmed for 2015.
If the location is not on the programme, it is inspected to see if it is an urgent repair. There is a separate allocation for urgent repairs but this allocation is limited.
