QUESTION: Councillor D. O'Donovan

"To ask the Chief Executive how many Community Groups/Residents Associations within the RTT Area have applied for Community Grants so far this year?  How much money has been allocated through Community Grants to the RTT Area?"

REPLY:

The Community Grants Scheme is currently on hold as it is under review by the Social and Community Development Strategic Policy Committee. The Scheme was the subject of a report to the County Council meeting in March 2015, however the recommendations from the SPC were referred back to the SPC for further consideration. It will be listed for further consideration by the SPC at its May 2015 meeting.

Members should also note that a number of new initiatives are also currently being prepared by Community Development Section such as The Community Initiatives Fund and The Community Endeavour Awards.

Accordingly no grants have yet been awarded to any groups in the County.
