QUESTION NO. 40
QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons
To ask for a report from January to March on those on the housing list and those in need of Homeless services. Also to provide as part of report how many houses have become available through different schemes such as Choice Based Lettings etc. Also how many Houses are currently boarded up ? and when will these be ready to occupy? have they all been allocated?
REPLY:
As at 30th March 2015, there are currently 8671 applicants approved on the Housing List and 265 registered Homeless applicants currently placed into Temporary Emergency Accommodation (TEA), Supported Temporary Accommodation (STA) or Private Emergency Accommodation (PEA).
Since 1 January 2015, there have 23 Council Owned properties made available and in each case tenants have been sourced. Of the council owned properties available, 9 were advertised on the Council's Choice Based Letting System.
In addition to the Council Owned Properties available, the following accommodation has also become available:
There are currently 16 properties boarded up of which 12 are South of the Naas Road and 4 are North of the Naas Road. Offers have been made on all these properties and will be made available for occupation on completion of necessary works. The average period for the turnaround of South Dublin Council properties is currently 11 weeks, however duration of works depends on the relets work programme for each property.
