MOTION: Cllr. Marie Corr

"That this Council agrees to assess the current lack of security measures in Jobstown Village Square Senior Citizen housing development, vis-a-vis entrance to apartments and the open plan nature of the carparking arrangements, with a view to installing whatever comprehensive measures are necessary to ensure the personal safety of residents"

REPORT

As previously reported to the Area Committee the area between the two new constructions is the subject of a detailed plan being prepared by the County Architect for the provision of a plaza type area.

Attached is the conceptual plan for the area in question.

In the interim the County Architect reports that an alternative security system has been ordered.  Arrangements are in hand to clear the surrounding area of any debris which has heretofore been used to attack the development.
