QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle
To ask the Chief Executive for a detailed update on the assessment of waiting lists for allotments with a view to identifying priority locations for development of new allotments during 2015?
REPLY:
There are 240 allotments provided at the following locations:
- Tymon Park, Tallaght
- Corkagh Park, Clondalkin
- Friarstown, Bohernabreena
- Mill Lane, Palmerstown
The waiting list for allotments are as follows:

| Total | 348 |
The current Capital Programme 2015 to 2017 includes for expenditure on the provision of additional allotment sites in 3 parks:
- Griffeen Valley Park Lucan
- Corkagh Park Clondalkin
- Tymon Park Tallaght
In 2015 the project will concentrate on Corkagh Park on the basis that the largest waiting list is for this location.
The intention is that the allotment sites will be attractively designed so that they are a positive addition to the park location and that they can also act at future educational resources for the public and children in particular and that they will enhance the Health and Wellbeing of those who use them.
