QUESTION NO.37
QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole
To ask the Chief Executive to consider the possibility of taking in charge buildings that have been privately/previously owned by developers such as marketing suites which have been left idle for a period allowing these unused buildings to be used by local communities groups in the interim and could a list of these buildings be provided to this council .
REPLY:
SDCC cannot TIC buildings, SDCC only TIC publicly accessible areas and utilities such as Roads, Footpath, Sewers, Parks, Public Lighting etc.
SDCC could take a lease or purchases a building and in such a case designated community groups or otherwise may have access or use of the building. This matter should be submitted to the appropriate section of housing or community department for further consideration.
