MOTION: Councillor M. Devine

That this Council be commended on the roll out of cycle lanes/walkways within the county and request that the Manager prioritise its completion especially with regard to Phase 2 - Tallaght to Ballyboden

REPORT:

Phase 2 of the Tallaght to Ballyboden pedestrian/cycle route will link the Firhouse Road to Templeroan Road and will include a number of spur connections such as, Scholarstown Road, Idrone Avenue and Templeroan Avenue. Phase 2 of the Tallaght to Ballyboden pedestrian/cycle route is currently at the detailed design stage. It is expected that the detailed design will be completed and tender documents prepared within next two months.

Subject to NTA STMG funding we hope to be in a position to tender for the construction of an initial section of phase 2 during the second quarter of 2015 with a view to commencing construction work mid 2015.
