QUESTION: Councillor M. Genockey

"To ask the Chief Executive to arrange for the mobile CCTV unit to deployed at the green space between Sundale Grove and Suncroft Park in order to try and combat the persistent illegal dumping problem at the green. The residents are constantly cleaning the area and the council’s cleansing unit have also carried out numerous cleans at the spot of dumped and burned material. Residents feel the use of CCTV could help identify those responsible."  

REPLY:

It should be noted that it is not possible to concede to every request for provision of CCTV.   A number of factors must be taken into consideration when considering a location including the extent of problem which exists, suitability of location for CCTV and the availability of financial resources.

The area in question will be examined and consideration given to the request.
