QUESTION: Councillor N. Coules

"To ask the Chief Executive if he is satisfied that the dwellings at Mac Uilliam estate, to which housing applicants have been referred and have taken up occupancy, comply with building regulations with regard to permanent ventilation of habitable rooms?"

REPLY:

No systemic problem has been identified with ventilation in the overall estate. 

On building handover substantial compliance with regulatory requirements was confirmed and all vents were in working order.

In the event that tenants have difficulties with ventilation, including condensation problems, a Maintenance Request Form should be submitted to Housing Maintenance giving details of location, effect and extent of the problem. The affected area can then be inspected, assessed and remediation work can be carried out if required.
