QUESTION NO. 5
QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner
To ask the Chief Executive given Rathcoole's designation as an Age Friendly Village, what provision is being made for disabled parking spaces in the village?
REPLY:
The Age Friendly Action Plan was received as a submission for the Villages Initiative in 2013. As far as I am aware, the provision of additional accessible parking spaces was not requested in this submission.
Existing accessible parking spaces are not adversely affected by the works. However if an existing accessible space requires attention, it will be considered as part of the scheme.
We have received various submissions on the Part VIII and we will prepare a detailed County Architect's Report in response. This will be presented to the April Council Meeting for approval.
Items that were highlighted and requested in the original Age Friendly Action Plan (such as footpath repairs and improvements to provide safe, level, accessible streets with level planting pits for trees) are being provided.
Excess bollards and other street clutter have already been removed as part of our ongoing programme for the county.
