QUESTION: Cllr. Joe Neville

" To ask the Manager for an update on proposals now  or in the past for infill housing at *details supplied  and will the Manager please note the severe anti-social activity at this location and will the Manager outline what objections if any prevented such infill housing at this location and will the Manager make a statement on the matter?."

REPLY

A preliminary concept was prepared on infill housing on a site between Dromcarra Avenue

and Kilclare and presented to the Area Committee prior to the initiation of the public consultation process.

Discussions were held with the local residents and representatives of the community council.  Following this process, in view of concerns raised regarding additional locations in the immediate area which are also subject to anti-social behaviour the council expanded its examination to include these additional areas.  Architectural Consultants were appointed and following the consideration of the difficulties identified it was suggested that an overall integrated and holistic plan for the area was required.

The overall plan was also the subject of a presentation to the Area Committee and as a master plan concept for the Whitestown Stream.  It is anticipated that the final detailed presentation will be completed shortly and will be presented as soon as possible to the Area Committee for consideration.
