MOTION NO.1
MOTION: Councillor M. Devine
That the Chief Executive Officer attend to the trees that line the N81 that are compromising visibility and safety- with special attention to those at Glenview and the trees opposite near the junction to Old Bawn.
REPORT:
As part of the 2015 Tree Maintenance Programme, work on the hedges along the N81 both in the median and along the road margins was completed on Friday 20th February.
In addition, work has commenced on flailing of the area between Glenview and the Old Bawn Road junction. This work is ongoing along the pedestrian path extending from the Old Bawn Road junction along the back of St Dominic’s school and towards Glenview.
Whilst this work will provide for improved visibility in this area, measures to further enhance visibility would necessitate a larger work programme and will be considered as part of an impending scheme of proposed landscape improvement works along the N81.
