MOTION NO. 6

MOTION: Councillor D. O'Brien

"That this Committee requests that SDDC remove the railings at Moy Glas Lawn, Moy Glas Road and Moy Glas Dene and replace it with a wall build to the same standard as the full walls in the estate. To reduce the noise from the traffic on the R136. Currently the noise in the estate is excessive from the amount of traffic on the road and this will only get worse in time." 

REPORT:

The Council have no plans to replace the railings at Moy Glas at this time. The Council is currently examining with its consulting engineers the Council's obligations under the Dublin Agglomeration Noise action plan 2013 -2818 along with many of the roads in the SDCC area. Moyglas is one of the many areas being assessed with a view to providing ameliorative measures if necessary in accordance with available resources.
