QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the Chief Executive Officer to present an updated report on his contacts, within the remit of the Parks section, with St Marks GAA club, Cookstown Road, Tallaght in respect of the issues of concern to the club?"

REPLY:

A number of meetings have taken place in recent times, most recently on Wednesday February 18th, with officials of the St Mark's GAA club in order to address a number of maintenance related issues which have carried over from the 2014 year.  The following is a summary of the current position - 

• Repairs have been completed to goal mouths on the GAA pitches,
• The palisade fence along Cookstown Road has been extended as required,
• The re-developed pitch has been rolled and cut a number of times and is nearly ready for use.  The goal posts will be erected here as soon as the ground is firm and dry and suitable to work on,
• A drainage issue on the juvenile pitch is due to be attended to in the very near future,
• The Council gave a commitment to cut the grass on the GAA pitches every week during 2015.
