QUESTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on efforts made to assist Palmerstown Boxing Club with finding a suitable premises and funding for same?"

REPLY:

The Community Services Department have visited the Palmerstown Community Hall and observed the current facility, which the boxing club use, in operation.

A scoping exercise is in the process of being carried out to identify the demand for additional space, the suitability of the current space and to map out a sustainable model for the use of the facility. When the report has been prepared a consultative process will be undertaken to explore various options.

It is premature to examine funding arrangements in advance of the completion of this exercise.
