QUESTION NO. 2
QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner
To ask the Chief Executive what can be done by the Council to assist the Clondalkin Tidy Towns biodiversity group as it strives to improve the presentation of Clondalkin Park (community centre), with particular reference to the Camac River and its banks, bridges and weirs?
REPLY:
A meeting took place with representatives of the Tidy Towns Committee and Public Realm staff in early February. The Committee identified a number of key areas in the vicinity of the Camac River which they would like to improve in the current year. The suggested areas are currently being examined with a view as to how best to approach the matter having regard to access, health and safety, land ownership and responsibilities.
In the meantime works on the car park will continue in the current year and will include the creation of a designated crossing point for pedestrians in the vicinity of the former car park security hut.
