QUESTION No. 7
DODDER PARK ROAD - PEDESTRIAN CROSSING
QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart
"To ask the Manager to provide a pedestrian crossing at somewhere between the junction of Dodder Park Road and the county boundary adjacent to to Ely Gate....I raised this at a recent traffic study group that perhaps a "refuge" would suffice, however, since then I have been contacted by numerous residents who have complained about the danger in crossing the road and the absence of a pedestrian facility for almost a mile?"
REPLY:
The provision of a pedestrian crossing as suggested above was not recommended on safety grounds by the Gardai at the recent Traffic Management Meeting of 24/11/05. It was agreed to further review the request and submit an additional report at the January 06 Traffic Management Meeting.
