MOTION NO. 172
MOTION: Councillor P. Donovan
That this Council directs the Chief Executive to ensure the 78,000 people employed in the County have reasonable access to good quality county wide public transport to get to their places of work.
REPORT:
One of the core Policy Objectives of the County Development Plan will be to promote the ease of movement within, and access to South Dublin County, by integrating sustainable land-use planning with a diverse and high quality transport system for people and goods within the County. A number of Policy Objectives, Actions and Measures will be developed to underpin this core objective. South Dublin County Council has also committed, via its Corporate Plan 2015-2019, to prepare an Integrated County Mobility Plan and work with national agencies to provide for all modes of transport to create a more physically connected county.
Recommendation
It is recommended that this motion is adopted.
