MOTION: Councillor F.N. Duffy
Education – safe routes to school SDCC will seek to provide improved pedestrian links to and from all schools / colleges.
REPORT:
South Dublin County Council works closely with the An Taisce and the National Transport Authority in regard to the implementation of the Green Schools Programme and Sustainable Transport Measures Grants schemes (STMGs) to improve pedestrian and cycle links in order to improve safety and make cycling and walking a more attractive and desirable mode of transport to schools. South Dublin County Council is also committed, via its Corporate Plan 2015-2019 to implement an annual road safety strategy. South Dublin County Council will continue to implement pedestrian and cycling improvements with the assistance of the NTA via the Green Schools and the STMGs.
Recommendation
It is recommended that this motion is adopted.
