MOTION NO. 215
MOTION: Councillor M. Devine
That this Council along with the NTA, commits to the establishment of a walk/cycle track from the Old Bawn crossroads, alongside the N81, to link with the other Slí na Sláinte- Dodder Park.
REPORT:
South Dublin County Council worked in close consultation with the National Transport Authority (NTA) to develop a County wide cycling network. The county wide network was integrated with those of adjoining Counties and incorporated into the NTAs Greater Dublin Area Strategic Cycle Network. This document identifies a hierarchy of primary, secondary, feeder routes and Greenways for the GDA. A number of walking and cycling walking routes have been identified within these strategic documents in the vicinity of the N81 and Dodder River Valley. This includes a ‘Minor Greenway’ adjacent to the N81 linking the Old Bawn crossroads to the Dodder Valley Park. This link will form part of a broader greenway network linking Jobstown, Killtipper, Tallaght and the Dodder Greenway.
Recommendation
It is recommended that this motion is adopted.
