MOTION NO. 112

MOTION: Councillor E. Higgins

That this Council directs the CEO to include a specific strategic objective in the Development Plan to help attract FDI into the area.

REPORT:

The economic growth of the State and Region over the last two decades has been strongly dependent on Foreign Direct Investment and this is expected to continue. The South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016-2022 should seek to protect and enhance the factors that make the region competitive for investment and support and facilitate further large scale economic investment both foreign and indigenous.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the motion is adopted.
