MOTION NO. 3

MOTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

That this Council inserts a specific objective in the Development plan to require as part of all new residential and commercial developments, and in existing developments where appropriate, provision to be made for facilities including local/neighbourhood shops, childcare facilities, schools and recreational facilities, renewable electricity generation, water heating and water collection facilities and to seek their provision concurrent with development.

REPORT:

The policies and objectives of the South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016-2022 will set out a spatial planning framework that supports the development of sustainable communities with integrated economic, social and community infrastructure.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the motion is adopted.
