MOTION NO. 73

MOTION: Councillor C. King

That the Plan will provide opportunities for the development of Sport Hubs throughout the County with multiple sports including minority sports facilitated in these locations.

REPORT:

The provision of community infrastructure is an important part of the delivery of sustainable communities and successful urban areas. South Dublin County Council will continue to support the delivery of community infrastructure through a range of plans and programmes including the County Development Plan.

The South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016-2022 will set out a spatial framework for the provision of a hierarchy of community facilities at county, district and local level based on the outcome of a needs assessment and having regard to the County Settlement Hierarchy. The Plan will seek to ensure that facilities are accessible and where appropriate are clustered to promote optimum usage.

Recommendation

It is recommended that this motion is adopted.
