MOTION NO. 259

MOTION: Councillor D. O'Donovan

That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy on the need to restrict encroachment of development on rivers, and need for protection measures to rivers and their banks during construction of permitted development (similar to measures taken to protect trees on site).

REPORT:

The County’s watercourses and the biodiversity along them is an important part of the County’s Green Infrastructure network.  

Recommendation

It is recommended that this motion is adopted.
