MOTION: Councillor E. Higgins
That this Council directs the Chief Executive, at a strategic level, to include in the Development Plan the protection of the Slade Valley from inappropriate development; and to further include relevant policy objectives to facilitate the delivery of a Slade Valley Heritage Trail.
REPORT:
The South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016-2022 will seek to promote the creation of permissive paths in conjunction with the Dublin Mountain Partnership and semi-state bodies that will provide greater access into and through high amenity, scenic and rural lands within the County including the Grand Canal, Dodder Valley Park and Dublin Mountains.
The council will also include policies and objectives that seek to protect the Slade Valley from inappropriate development and to facilitate and support the delivery of a Slade Valley Heritage Trail.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the motion is adopted.
