MOTION: Councillor C. Brophy
That this Council directs the Chief Executive to ensure that any area, identified through CFRAMS maps and studies, as being at risk of flooding should be protected from development until such time as any and all prevention and mitigation measures identified through CFRAMS have been fully implemented.
REPORT:
South Dublin County Council will continue to work with the Office of Public Works (OPW) and adjoining Local Authorities to address flood risk and support the implementation of CFRAMS (Catchment Flood Risk Assessment and Management) projects.
South Dublin County Council has commissioned RPS to carry out a Strategic Flood Risk Assessment of the County and the outcomes of the assessment will inform the South Dublin County Development Plan 2016-2022. The issue of flood alleviation works is separate to the Development Plan process.

It is recommended that the motion is adopted
