MOTION: Councillor F. Warfield

Mayor's Business

South Dublin County Council, while welcoming the publication of a long overdue Gender Recognition Bill, calls on government to accept the changes proposed by Transgender rights group TENI, members of the Oireachtas, and others. This will ensure the new legislation respects the self-determination of Transgender people and is rooted firmly in a human rights approach and international best practice.

If the motion is passed the terms of the motion will be conveyed to the Minister for Justice and Equality and upon receipt, a copy of their reply will be circulated to the Members.
