QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

"To ask the Chief Executive to assists Lucan Village with the provision of Christmas tree lights for 2015 to ensure that these lights are in place in time for the Christmas season. The centre island within the village would be an excellent focal point for Christmas tree lights enhancing the festive atmosphere and encouraging more residents to visit the village over the festive period?"

REPLY:

Currently there is no direct funding available from South Dublin County Council's Community Grants Program for the erection of Christmas lights.

If the groups contact details are passed on the Community Worker for the area, the worker will arrange to meet and discuss with the group any plans they may have around a festival/events to mark the Christmas season and ascertain how the Community Services Dept may be of assistance.
