QUESTION NO.2
QUESTION: Councillor L. Dunne
"To ask the Chief Executive OFficer to give a commitment and timeline to St Mark's GAA club, of when the grass will be cut regularly and to an acceptable playing level. Also when will the old pitch be fixed and goal posts in installed to allow for pitch use. Additionally, when the other pitch near the apartments will be fixed and playable again. Finally, to give a commitment that the park will be enclosed to to an acceptable standard and timeline for the same?"
REPLY:
The Council proposes to operate a weekly grass cutting schedule for all playing pitches in the County in 2015 and this will include the pitches used by St Mark's GAA club, grass cutting is due to re-commence around the end of February. The issues raised regarding the installation of goal posts and extension of fencing are both due to be resolved with the necessary work carried out in the coming 2 to 3 weeks. The repairs required to pitches will be carried out as soon as ground conditions permit, and it is hoped that this will be around the end of February or early March. These pitches are expected to be playable within 2 to 3 weeks of the repair works being completed.
