MOTION: Councillor D. O'Brien

“That the Chief Executive present a report for discussion at the Committee detailing the ongoing traffic management problems on Esker Drive related to school drop off and pick up times and outlining options for reducing the level of traffic disruption for residents in the surrounding estates."

REPORT:

Traffic Management at this location has been examined in detail and additional Ramps, road markings  and Pedestrian crossings have been provided.  The designated school drop off / pick points are considered to be effective however the volumes of attracted traffic at school times and the indiscriminate parking does give rise to congestion. The enforcement of illegal and inconsiderate parking is a matter for the garda Authorities has been brought to their attention on a number of occasions. It should be noted that a deputation from the Canonbrook residents is to take place on this issue this Wednesday 29th January 2015.
