That this Committee commends local organisations that put on community celebrations to mark the festive season.

REPORT:

South Dublin County Council Community Services is aware of and greatly appreciates  the voluntary efforts made by Community Organisations right across the County in the organisation of a wide range of different activities and events to celebrate Christmas and the festive season. The events and celebrations very much add to the enjoyment of the festive season for local communities and fosters a great sense of community spirit.

The Community Development Team actively supports a lot of these activities, both through the allocation of funds and by working on the ground actively advising and assisting a large number of community organisation throughout the county with the organisation and planning of these festive events.
