QUESTION NO. 8
QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner
To ask the Chief Executive if any progress has been made on deciding on a location for the Clondalkin Intercultural Centre which will be moving when the work commences on the Round Tower Heritage Centre?
REPLY:
The multi-cultural group are using the Tower Road premises on a provisional basis for the last number of years with the agreement of the building owners, South Dublin County Council. Their landlord is South Dublin County Partnership. The Partnership have agreed to return vacant possession of the building to the Council in good time for construction works to commence on these buildings for the Round Tower Visitor Centre. These works will not commence before Quarter 3, 2015. Responsibility for the provision of a new premises for the multi-cultural centre lies fully with South Dublin County Partnership who are aware of the timetable and have undertaken to seek an alternative premises for this group in good time.
