QUESTION NO. 12

QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner

In recent times, many requests in relation to routine maintenance of street furniture in the Clondalkin village area have been met with the response that the work will be done under the Villages Renewal Scheme.  As a result, there are broken fences, bent street signs, mismatched and broken bollards. substandard and dangerous footpaths and paving in the village centre area,  These issues have been pointed out on an ongoing basis by a local architect (name and address supplied) who is extremely upset at how his beloved historic village is being systematically neglected as we await the roll out of the Villages Scheme.  To ask the Chief Executive to call for due attention to be paid to the routine maintenance of street furniture as requested?

REPLY:

The Road Maintenance Section is currently undertaking a review of damaged, broken or redundant street furniture in all villages in the county.  This will be prioritised in Clondalkin Village in the first Quarter of 2015.
