QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

"To ask this Committee to recognises the great work that local volunteers provide in running the weekly Park Runs in Waterstown Park, Palmerston and Griffeen Park, Lucan which have been supported by South Dublin County Council. In recognition of the successful community initiative; that this Council provides each park run with a heavy duty pop-up Gazebo to facilitate the organisation particularly in winter months."

REPLY:

South Dublin County Sports Partnership was instrumental in bringing the Parkrun initiative to South Dublin County and strongly supports these free, community volunteer led events that currently cater for up to 300 people weekly.

The Sports Partnership Officer will contact Parkrun regarding the proposal and the outcome will be communicated to the councillor.
