QUESTION: Councillor C. King
To ask the Chief Executive to report on how many businesses have applied for the Business support grant to date, to state what this figure is as a percentage and to provide a copy of the letter sent to rate payers this year informing them of the grant?
REPLY:
Following the launch of the grant in early 2014 ratepayers were notified in both February and July/August by way of the attached notice, in addition to further emails to applicants, web, press and facebook info and of course in person as part of the Sustainable Business Initiative throughout April-August by visits to several thousand businesses

The Council is in the process of assisting these further potential applicants which will by year end maximise the take up of the business Support Grant.
