QUESTION NO. 34
QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons
To ask the Chief Executive for a report on Mental Health week and to give available statistics for this week?
REPLY:
The Council's inaugural Health and Well Being Week ran from 29th September to 5th October 2014. An extensive programme of events was developed in partnership with a host of organisations and agencies throughout the County. Health and wellbeing is one of the major challenges faced by all who live work or visit our County and healthy minds and bodies are essential to enjoying complete physical, mental and social wellbeing.
One of the primary objectives of the weeklong activities was to give those at risk of exclusion the opportunity to get out and get involved. The planning for Health and Well Being Week 2015 will shortly begin and in this regard the matter will be listed with others for consideration by the Social and Community Strategic Policy Committee as an integral part of their work plan. Members will be advised of the plans as they are developed and agreed.
