MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner

That this committee supports the erection of a sound barrier between the Broadfield estate in Rathcoole and the N7 and the improvement of the boundary treatment at this location where gaps in the hedges that currently form the boundary.

REPORT:

The erection of a sound barrier at this location will be considered in the context of the Dublin Agglomeration Environmental Noise Action Plan  which is to be reviewed by SDCC in the new year. There is an existing noise barrier on the N7 on the westbound carriageway at this location. This barrier was provided as part of the three lane upgrade completed in 2007.
