QUESTION: Councillor C. King

"To ask the Chief Executive Officer to arrange for a new booklet to be published to inform Community groups in the Tallaght area of the new Community Initiative Fund which was recently Established in the 2015 SDCC Budget and for this booklet to include the range of activities and events that would be eligible to apply for funding through this mechanism?"

REPLY:

It was agreed in 2012 when the then Strategic Policy Committee adopted the current Grant Schemes that a review of the entire Community Grant landscape would be undertaken as part of the work programme for the incoming (SPC) Committee with a view to introducing any new arrangements in 2015. 

It is now proposed that as part of this planned review to extend the work programme to include Tidy Towns schemes, the New Community Initiative Fund and the Endeavour Awards Programme. The programme of works will tabled for consideration at the first meeting of the (SPC) Committee and following the considerations of the Committee the preparation of drafts schemes can commence.

Normally a booklet detailing all the required information is published at the conclusion of the process.
