QUESTION NO 31.

QUESTION: Councillor B. Leech

"Having established that the wasteland site at the corner of Jobstown Road and Suncroft Drive is part of a land exchange between Kelland Homes and the South Dublin County Council ( which by the way was two decades ago ) can we find out exactly what the Housing Department is intending to do with this plot. The residents are losing patience and would love to see a playfield there?"

REPLY:

Approval was granted at a County Council meeting on the 9th of September 2013 to the proposed construction of infill housing at Suncroft in accordance with Part 8 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations 2001-2012. The proposed scheme will consist of 10 units of accommodation which are as follows:

Part 8 Report

The scheme is part the job stimulus programme funded by the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government. The Council received budget approval for the project from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government under the Job Stimulus Programme in June 2014.

The Council is now at the tender stage of the project. The tender process must strictly adhere to the requirements set down under the Capital Works Management Framework issued by the Department of Finance. On completion of this process the contract will be awarded to the successful tender subject to further approval from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.
