QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"To ask the Chief Executive for an update in response to discussions with Ballyowen Celtic FC in relation to the previously-agreed relocation of containers at Griffeen Valley Park?"

REPLY:

The request from Ballyowen Celtic for the club to relocate their container to a position at 90 degrees to existing containers at the rear of the skate park has been approved. The approximate location of the new position is outlined in red on the attached map. The Public Realm Section will remove vegetation and install a hard standing in the current year to enable the container to be moved by Ballyowen Celtic. Further contact will be made with the club to discuss the necessary arrangements.

Given the recent experience of anti social behaviour in the area this configuration could give rise to further anti social behaviour. If this happens, the Council will seek the assistance of the clubs concerned to address it.
