MOTION NO. 8
MOTION: Councillor V. Casserly, Councillor W. Lavelle
"That this Area Committee, noting the worsening traffic congestion in Lucan, calls on the National Transport Authority, as the regulator and licensing authority for public transport bus services in Dublin, to:
- Firstly, include a new orbital route linking Lucan Village, Clondalkin & Tallaght (similar to the previously proposed No. 166 Dublin Bus route) as part of the upcoming competitive tendering process of 10% of routes in Dublin; and
- Secondly, seek the introduction of the previously-proposed 25C route from Adamstown to City Centre, via Newcastle Road and the N4-Newcastle Road interchange, to be provided by Dublin Bus or a private operator; while protecting and where possible expanding the carrying-capacity of the existing 25A & 25B routes."
REPORT:
If the Motion is approved a letter will issue to the NTA and the committee will be informed when a response is received.
