QUESTION NO.17
QUESTION: Councillor M. Devine
To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the stencilling of "Dog Fouling" signs within this Committees remit?
REPLY:
Dog fouling stencils have been used on footpaths in key locations in regional parks e.g. entrances. This method of signage is effective for a period and then requires renewal. South Dublin County Council along with the other Dublin Authorities launched a joint dog fouling signage campaign in June 2014. There are 3 different signs being erected emphasising the health risks associated with dog fouling, the cost to dog owners who do not clean up after their dogs and appeals to dog owners to “leave only paw prints”. These signs are now being erected in parks and key locations.
