MOTION NO.2

MOTION: Councillor B. Ferron

That this Committee calls on the Chief Executive to arrange a complete clean-up of the Laneway located at the rear of Maelruans Park and backs on to St Dominics School. And also that the Chief Executive will arrange that this laneway is added to the regular cleansing schedule of the Council.

REPORT:

The laneway in question was inspected recently and found to be reasonably clean but very overgrown over much of it's length.  The laneway is gated at both ends and not accessible to the general public and with access restricted in this way it is not considered necessary to carry out regular cleaning on the laneway.  The Council's Public Realm maintenance section will however carry out a once off cleaning of the laneway in the coming weeks.
